In the Grid view I add columns and rearrange them.

After reopening XMM, the grid shows the correct columns in the initial order (and width) and not rearranged and resized.

If I'm right the grid settings get saved under
"[XMM folder]/layout/"
... are you sure XMM can write to it? Could be that you're not running XMM in admin mode which could affect things with Win 7 + 8 and you've installed XMM in a system protected folder (like "program files (x86)).

I followed a hint from one user to change security settings of the XMM folders (gave my user full access) and have no problems with grid saving at the moment.

As I said the columns I add still show - therefore they are saved.

What is not saved is the order I place them in; they revert to where XMM originally placed them.

XMM is installed in the Documents folder.

Strange ... it works for me with 8.0.2.8.

There was an > option to > freeze the current layout ... do you happen to have this set to true?
