Hi,
I have a strange problem in DropBox: On my hard disk I have a file structure like "dropbox\xmm8\index.html" and "dropbox\xmm8\files". While "index.html" on the hard disks works perfectly, the same file on the dropbox website merely shows:
Movies: 629 Today added Movies Created: 18-Jan-2013 Filtered: 0
Same problem with Internet Explorer 9, Firefox 18.01, Google Chrome AND on my smartphone. So it's obviously not a browser problem...
What am I missing?
Cheers Dix |

I am having a similar problem described by Dixon. "My Collection in Html" has been working perfectly for all mkv movie files scanned from my hard drive but all of a sudden when the html index files are generated "Filtered" option is set to "0". That is, when the index.html page is opened either in internet explorer or firefox, at the top left of the page "Movies: 225 Filtered: 0". Hence, no movie covers are displayed until I click "Title: All". For all my previous databases created the index.html file will show all the covers once opened with "Movies: 225 Filtered: 225" but all of a sudden this stopped working. I have all the different html templates under "options-->my website" but they all produce the same results. Also I have done a reset of all XMM configuration just in case i accidentally changed a variable but that did not solve the problem and now I am completely clueless and out of ideas and wondering if someone could shed more light on this problem. Thanks in advance for your help |

The index.htm or respectively index.html shows the today added movies. (Like the headline of this pages says.) These files contains the same like the files "Filter_ADDED_TODAY.htm" and "Filter_ADDED_TODAY.html". If you didn't added a movie to your database today, this site is empty respectively filtered 0. If you add a movie at 11:55 pm and generate the website at 0:00, this page is also empty. |

Thanks alot Mathimid for your response. I completely missed the headlines and I thought I had accidentally changed a setting in XMM and that's why the index.html start page was blank. Just wondering if there's a way to disable the 'today filter' and just show all files added. Also is there a way to identify a hard disks to make searching for a particular movie on a particular hard drive easy? For example if I have added movies to my database from hard drives that I have labelled with a sticker (HDD 1, HDD 2 and HDD 3) and the movie I'm looking for is located on HDD 3 is a way XMM 8 can show this information and obviously is there a way to add a Hard Drive identifier for movies that I'm adding from a particular Hard Drive in the first place? Or simply is there a way to show the location of the movies at all? At the moment I am creating individual databases for each hard drive that I own. So when I'm searching for a movie I have to open each database and search for the movie which is ok for now but once the amount of HDDs blow out of proportion I'm sure you could imagine how tedious this will be. Also is there a way to merge/link all these separate databases I have created? Once again, thanks in advance for your response. |

The index files are sadly hard coded. I can't change it by changing my html-template. The index files contains the today added movies. That's a fact. The only way is that all hdd are constantly available for the system so that the locations are constantly the same. So you must ahve all HDD permanently connected to the system and have all movies in one database. The possibilities of HTML and Javascript are limited. Your case could be solved with a php-script which collect all movies and check if the files are available and only shows the available movies. Problems with that: The XMM don't exports php-files. You need an running apache server to open php-files. No one, excepting a webdesigner uses a local apache server. So it wouldn't make sense to implement a functionality to export php files into the XMM. Your case is a thing where only Ale can find a solution. But i think it would be very complicated. |

Thanks for your response Mathimid. I'll have to use the index.html in that case mainly for the graphical user interface and export all my files to a text file as well to make searching the location easier as the text file will container identifiers for the hard drives until there's another workaround hopefully in the near future. |

Why you didn't put all movies into one single database and use the field "Location" to write in the drive number which is written on the sticker? So if you search for a movie, you have all movies t one sight and you know with one sight which HDD has to be connected to the system. |

Well Mathimid, that sounds like a great idea. I have already created separate databases for each individual hard drives that I have and other than having to rescan the data all over again into a single database, I can't really think of any other simple way of achieving this. But from now on, I'll be to using a single database and utilize that "Location" parameter you recommended to make things easier. Thanks a lot for your support, greatly appreciated. |
