I used to like using EMM as in Ver 7 and earlier in Ver 8 I simply scanned my movie folder and it read the NFO file in there and added it to EMM when it imported the movie. Now it doesn't and of course I can't update the movie from IMDB unless I manually select each movie. Does anyone know what the line should be in the config.ini file to tell it to read the link from the NFO file so I can verify it is correct? I have it set to do it, but it is NOT, so I suspect that it doesn't update the config file for some reason? thanks in advance |

So the Imdb link is stored in Custom field 8, Web page link, Direct link and also web ID. So if the IMDB link is stored in 4 different places where does the EMM program get this info from to automatically take the first direct link? I have it set to that and filled in all 4 fields manually to try to get the program to automatically read the link and import the correct info but it still doesn't work.
For my original problem where I can't get EMM to read the IMDB link from the NFO file, I think I can use a program called DIRLISTER and get a listing of my hard drive in text format. From the text format I export from that program and I can then clean up the text file and then import the name of the movie and the IMDB link. I like it a lot better when EMM used to bring in the link from the NFO file but I guess until that is fixed I can do it this way. The device scan option was the one reason I really liked this app, but maybe if I get good with getting the info using DirLister I can use MovieCollector to import the data from the web instead? |

My info file is simply a text document that I paste the IMDB shortcut link into and then rename to NFO instead of .txt The nfo file would be named "A good day to die hard.nfo" and the only line in it is
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1606378/
I have created these for every movie I have as part of my cataloging and also have a shortcut in that folder pointing to http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1606378/ So my folder is named identical to the movie and inside it is the NFO file and the movie named the same, and a shortcut to the imdb page. Does that help? |

Also if you can get the IMDB link to copy in from the NFO file, can you put it in the correct field (there are 3 fields) so that the program will automatically take it? I just installed the new version and it still will not take the direct link automatically. I am a little reluctant to try to import more movies into my database until I can figure out how to get the several hundred I have in there to take the IMDB link so I don't have to choose manually for each one. I already copied the link over manually for most of these (to various fields hoping to find the one that it used) so I don't want to have to manually select each movie too! Thanks! |

Confirmed. Installed the latest version and stills asking me to select the right movie, wich means it doesn't take the imdb link/ID |

yep, too bad as the app is pretty much useless to me without that feature :-(. I suspect that it is just that the config file is not reflecting that we what it to take the direct link for the movie, but I still have no idea yet what the line is supposed to be in the config file for it to take the movie (or even which of the three fields it uses for the link) |

Just tested it. Still keeps asking me to select movie, meaning doesn't take the link from nfo :( |

Assuming you mean before magicscript updates the information, nope, nothing appears on the details2 tab. P.S. Now I have to leave to work but youf you send me a pm with your e-mail I would lioke to send you a xml file of an Ember export so you would take a look and check if it is possible to make XMM import the movie list from there. |
