When starting Extreme Movie Manager I get two runtime errors. 440 first and the 380. The program errors out and never starts up. |

Hi,
Have you installed the FULL release? Because I think your problem is related to Runtime Files.

I started out with version 4.2b and then upgraded to 4.3b when it came out. I did it by just installing the exe file. It worked after the install with no problems. Some time later I started having the problem. After having the problem I uninstalled it all and reinstalled 4.3b full version. Still no go.

I uninstalled the 4.3 and installed 4.4
No luck. same problem
In the install process it said that the existing file COMDLG32.OCX was newer and asked if I should keep the file. Of course I said yes but could this be part of the problem? |

xpcontrolAdv01 Run-Time error '440' Automation error
xpcontrolbase Run-Time error '380' Invalid property value |

Hi,
Yes, I know these components, are :
xpControlBase.ocx xpControlAdv01.ocx xpControlAdv02.ocx
Please delete these 3 files from your "c:\windows\system32\" folder and install the latest release 4.5
Let me know,
Alessio |

I've done everything in your last message and even taken it one step further. I shutdown almost every program running in the back ground (yahoo, AVG, etc...). Still no luck. I get the same error. |

Hi There....
It appears I have exactly the same problem with the same results from your recommendation. I tried deleting those .OCX files and re-installied v4.5 Build 1 but I have the same problem with the runtime error messages. I even went so far as de-installing other programs that I have recently installed - mostly games. I also tried installing previous versions of Movie Manager (from 4.3 and up).
Please HELP!

Hi Guys,
This problem is related to these OCX files. I am working to substitute these OCX with internal code in XMM, so in future you should not have problems anymore.
Thank you!

I know you have a lot on your plate but do you have an idea of when the fix will be out?
Thanks Joe |

Todays my lucky day. I was messing around with the EMM program and out of the blue it started working. Don't ask me what I've done. All know is for now it is working again.

Really..... Please try to remember what you did. I've been trying myself and I can't get it running. I have about 20 more items to add to the database but I can't... DAMN!
Please E-mail me at Tim.Hansen@rogers.com if you can remember anything that you did to get it working again. I'm kind of getting deparate. I haven't heard from Alessio in a few weeks now.
Best remembering; -Tim

Hi Guys,
Sorry for my late reply in these weeks, I will marry tomorrow so I had not much free time past days. I have found what is the cause of the problem, so I will release a patch soon.
Thank you,

When EMM starts up you get to choose your data base. Well all I did was the rebuild of my data base. I'm not sure if that fixed it or if it was just a fluke.
Hope that helps.
Also thanks Alessio for all.

Hi Joe....
I tried what you said about rebuilding the database. The rebuild was successful but I got the same problem when I tried to set the default moive database again. did you install anything new or remove anything from your computer before you tried this?
I hope we find the solution soon.
Best Regards; Tim

Hi....
Yes, I still have the same problems. I've done everything I can think of short of re-installing my whole PC again. Please come up with a fix. I have about 30 movies to add to the database.
Let me know if there is anything I can do to help out.
Best Regards -Timbits

Hi Alessio...
I was hoping that the new version of the XMM program would resolve this issue but it looks like I've still got the same or similar problem.
I still get the same error messages when I start XMM for the first time after I set the default database. However, when I start it the second time, XMM doesn't ask to set the default database but I just get the same messages about the errors.
I tried installing the new update version first. When that didn't work, I un-installed XMM and installed the full version (4.6b) - same problem.
Please let me know if there is any information you need to troubleshoot this problem.
The last resort I have is to try and re-install my whole system. Please don't have me do that...LOL.
Thanks
