I was doing "DELETE all pictures not connected with any Movies" and had to end the task since it was "Not Responding". When I restarted my EMM all the pictures/ cover of the movies and actors are no longer displayed.

In the Saved Database_cover I lost about 100 out of 1000+ (a good thing I stopped/end the task) but in its sub-folder "backup" I see that everything are there. In Saved Database_photos everything looks like they're all there.

I tried to recover it by >Open Database and retrieve from the Backup folder. There are several days of "Saved Database.mdb" and none of them help. I tried to "Rebuild Thumbnails" and "Rebuild People Thumbnails" to no avail.

When I tried to recover from >Databases>Saved Database (there is only 1 saved) - I get the actors pics but not all the missing cover movies. So how do I get it back without entering manually since there thousands.

I just noticed that all the missing cover photos are in the Grid View but if I look at the Thumbnail View some of them are there.

thanks ahead.

I would try this:
1. create a fresh folder restored_db
2. copy the database file into this folder and rename it as restore.mdb
3. create all subfolders with the base name restore like restore_cover, restore_photos, etc.
4. copy everything from your original database subfolders into them
5. start XMM and open the restore.mdb
If this doesn't help then repeat step 2. with the latest backuped .mdb

In order to achieve what is possible, you have to try the impossible over and over again.

The internal backup only copies the .mdb file into the backup folder and no single subfolder. So if you delete a pic this is really lost.
Please have a look here: http://www.binaryworks.it/cgi-bin/data/wiki/doku.php?id=backup_database
When I need a backup or a database for testing purposes I always do a manually backup as I have described in this article.
