I don't know if anyone else has XP 64 but I run XP Pro 64 bit SP1 and get the following when I try to open the Alpha version of XMM 5
I see the splash screen for eXtreme Movie Manager 5.0.0.1 Then the error “3753Provider is not specified and there is no designated default provider” If I okay that the main window opens (FrmInizio) I then see the error “3709The connection cannot be used to perform this operation. It is either closed or invalid in this context.” 12 times! Finally the status bar shows “3704Operation is not allowed when the object is closed.”
Memory Usage is 64,496K and CPU 99%
XMM 4.8 works fine on my x64 machine. |

Hi Sonho,
I haven't XP 64 bit, I will try to make some research, but seem that the problem is related to ADO Connections.
Anyone has this problem?

Hi,
This is normal, because the OLD database is not compatible! I am writing an utility for import all movies and series from old database (4.8) but for make tests please use the database inside 5.0
Thank you,

I still have problems with the Alpha in XP 64 bit. This is what happens on the latest Beta 14. At the Splash screen I get the error - This Database is NOT Compatible! Then: 91Object reference not set to an instance of an object Main window appear, and splash screen stays. When I choose File/New Database I get the error - This Database is NOT Compatible Then: An Error has occured Error ID C3 Then: An Error has occured Error ID C1 The main window status has the error: 3704Operation is not allowed when the object is closed.
Deleting the databases does not work.
All I can think is the target processor when you compile is set to Any CPU. Can you try a compile with x86 as the target CPU? This should force a 64 bit system to use 32 bit drivers.
Thanks. |

Hmm. I wonder what I have or don't have that is causing the problem.
I smell a reinstall on the horizon. |

Hi Guys,
The problem is related to Database reading. I don't know why, but seem that you have some "broken" or corrupted files.
I have AMD64 with SP2 on my system too, and all is OK here.
For people with Window 64 bit there is a special Framework, but should not be this the problem.
I will try to find a solution, if you find it first please write me!
Thank you,
Alessio |

Hi Guys,
I have make some search on web and I have found a possible solution.
Please try to download and install MDAC components (you need this for connect to databases)
These components are already inside windows XP sp2, so I don't know if you will be able to install it, but give a try.
Let me know!

I don't think this is a corrupt driver problem more like 32 bit/64 bit driver reference problem.
The MDAC download installs but does not solve the problem. I don't see how Doc is running on XP64 or what he has special.
I did find a FAQ about MDAC at http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/library/en-us/mdacsdk/htm/mdac_faq.asp This mentions a 64 bit version of msado15.dll for the compile machine (even if it is 32 bit).
As I mentioned before the only other thing I can think of is the target processor when you compile. Is set to Any CPU? Can you try a compile with x86 as the target CPU? This should force a 64 bit system to use 32 bit drivers. |
