Hi Guys,

I have finish to upload the Alpha 6.

The main change is the Chain Support. As always, please report bugs and suggestions!

Hi Alessio,

Thanks for the new beta.
I have a problem with Magic Script.
I need to find a text in a line. The problem is that the text I'm looking for is in a variable (
#FIND# #00##01# doesn't work).

Can you please insert a new command in which I can use also a variable as search string or change the #FIND# command (maybe like this: #FIND# #00#,#01#)?

Hi Alessio,
when i run xmm alpha 6, it's freeze, and i can't close it, if not by using task manager...
I haven't this problem with the prev version 5..

sorry for my bad english :(

Sorry guys,

If you are familiar with Windows registry, please locate this key and delete it (XMM will create a new, fresh ,one):

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\eXtremeMovieManager

Please let me know if works.

Hi Alessio!

I've problems to create a script chain with the new beta:
- menue entry "chain manager" is missing
- using window "import with chains of scripts"-->"create a new chain" I can type in some info for "chain header" but when I want to save the info xMM hang up/freezes

- main window: my movies ->quick edit view: window is cut off at the right side (movie cover, personal rating etc.)
- movie search should be extended (fulltext search, all fields should be selectable (multiselection), field operators and/or/not/</>/= etc.)

Hi Mawu,

I have delete the "Chain Manager" because it's inside the Import Window (I mean that you can create, modify and delete chains directly from here)

About the bug: I will investigate.

Uups,

I've updated my posting simultaneously.

About chain manager: maybe it's usefull to put "chain manager" to menue and/or icon bar just with a "link" to the right menue. That's all. As I posted above I have problems at the moment even to create a chain. As I have understand it correctly first I have to create a new chain header and then use "add a new script to chain". Or can I use also the old chains from xMM 4.8?

Additional suggestion to movie search: frequently used search procedures should be storeable and maybe displayed in the treeview of the left window (like in Wensoftware Movie Library).

You can test Chains by copying the header from the example, and then add scripts to chain with XMM.

About others suggestions, I will try to add it all

Hmm, very strange. Do you mean the "empty header"? (because I can't find any example chain). With this I tried to a "add a new script to chain". I can select one and press "take selected script" but no script is displayed in the corresponding table.

Oooppsss, found the bug.

I have forget to add in the installation the "Chains" subfolder.

You can do this:

1)Create a folder called "Chains"

2)Create a TXT and copy this header:


#MADEBY#=Mawu
#DATEBUILD#=22/February/2006
#WEBSITE#=IMDB+OFDB
#CHAINQUALITY#=4
#CHAINGENERATION#=2
#NOTES#=Info from IMDB +OFDB (English and German)

#STARTCHAIN#

#ENDCHAIN#

3-Save the TXT..

I tried it out with IMDB+OFDB, but there is only data download with the script I added at last to the chain.
I select all info except for genre, subgenre, mpaa, plot, comment from IMDB all the rest from OFDB.
text file looks like that:

Hi Mawu,

Just a question: have you select "Directlinks" of IMDB and OFDB when XMM ask for it? Remember that XMM writes all links of every script in the same time, so you must use scrollbars to find all links.

Please let me know.

Oh, I haven't done this, because I did it the old way with double-click on a movie title. With "Directlinks" you mean the "Take selected links" button? Ok, now I have done this. And - what a stupid fault - I've overseen that the hits of all chain scripts are displayed at once. With my test movie there were so many hits in OFDB that I had to scroll down for IMDB hits (and strangely enough OFDB results were presented first although it's the second script in chain; that why I have thought xMM has skipped the IMDB script). Maybe a little bit complex as far as the display is concerned even for newbies. But it works know for me . And I hope the integration of the "automatisation" features of xMM 4.8 (don't care about page not found and continue, takes the first movie found and go on) will accelerate the whole import process a little bit.

Another observation: With IMDB script the Site ID is not imported.

I have in mind to make better help for XMM 5.0, I will make Video Tutorials that will exaplain these procedure, so will be more simple learn the use of XMM.

About automatization: I will try to add the "old" functions, I must find the right way to do this.
