can images be stored in different folders or do all have to be in one?

They are always in one single folder. As in previous post already said you can manipulate the location by javascript.
But I think that will not help you as the download folder by the script is always the initial one.

im ok with the download folder but how do i manipulate the folder? scrip6?

In the script it's not possible. Therefor I've said that it will not help you to manipulate the variable later on the card.
That folder is hardcoded in XMM itself.

well with my intended use thats not good...could be 10s of thousands of files in that folder

That's true but unfortunately no chance to change.
I don't know what you wanna do but for me I only download one pic for the cover/poster and one for the fanart. That minimizes the amount of pics.

yes but all stored in the same folder...its the storage folder...even if in script ways i could modify, but moving them out of folder removes link to them somehow
