1st I'm very new to application I have tried everything I can think of to find movie/tv shows by UPC. what I have done is copied UPC codes to a txt file then clicked on add movie >advanced > movie UPC (barcode) From Txt Files. once new window opens I click on open a txt file. the widow populates I then click on add items to data base, the window closes then nothing happens I going to leave it running over night and see if anything changes.

As an FYI the window that opens for UPC search states "Just write one Title per Row, eventually add year separate by \, like Matrix\2001"

Is it possible that what ever process is activated is pulling the wrong search module?

Regards

Jim

At first hello to the forum, Jim!

The only script that uses the UPC code is the DVDEmpire.com script. So you have to set it as default script for the automatic update process or you have to use it manually after selecting the entries that you want to proceed.
As I only add movies by their titles I can't say if this UPC code is really unique of if you additionally have to chose between several results. I just have tested it with the UPC of the movie Constantine and there were shown two different versions...

To the description in the search window: I think that it is only an example sentence and does not really describe the actual function.

In order to achieve what is possible, you have to try the impossible over and over again.

Thank you for the answer unfortunately having set DVDEmpire.com as the default script has not made a difference any other suggestions would be appreciated.

Did you already have set the options to automatically update with that script? Only setting it as default script is not enough. Maybe I have not said that clear enough:
1. Set the default script
2. Activate the automatic import of the info

Do you have checked if the UPC codes are found on the DVDEmpire site?
As said I have checked only Constantine and I had to chose between 2 possibilities so there was a manual selection needed.
