When the Device Scanner makes a find of items to input, it auto-selects all. If one desires not to act on all items, the fairly tedious set of steps to right-click and pick Select All Rows and right-click again and pick Check/Uncheck Selected does not actually perform the uncheck function. In my experience, it will check or uncheck the last item selected. Most apps will have a Checkbox (usually) above the item list which, if checked, will select all or reverse the select status. As is, one is left with the option of awkwardly unchecking each item and having the list resort (dropping unchecked items to the bottom) after every other selection. When introducing the product to an existing collection of video materials, the scanner can find hundreds or thousands of items which can be overwhelming to process in one sitting ( my scanner is currently offing to process 810 items.) The ability to manage this process is essential.

At first check the option (Menu Files -> Settings -> General) to add only files that are not already in database.
Next step would be to copy the files in different folders when the amount is too large. You can add more than one folder to be checked by the device scanner. After that you can copy all back to the initial folder as there is the function to (automatically) change the path of files to the correct directory.
At least I would select the files in portions as example alphabetical.
To the multiselection: I didn't have checked that as I check the entries always item for item.

In order to achieve what is possible, you have to try the impossible over and over again.
