This has been a problem since ver. 8.
I have one very large folder file on one hard drive. Device scanner only found 7 .mkv files. The other 1,000 or so are: mp4,avi, divx,
Not sure what Im doing wrong.
Device scanner skips everything but the 7 .mkv files.

Go to the Options -> DeviceScanner -> Tab: File Extensions

Here are listed all the types of video files that XMM should recognize. Maybe your list is broken. Why there are double entries detracts my knowledge...

Did a complete Delete, then cut & paste your list. Shut it down, then complete re-boot.
Did not work. Still do not understand.

It works now. Thank you. redid delete cut & paste. of file extensions. Then I deleted words to exclude... That did the trick.
