Hi Alessio,
since upgrading to a new release from 4.8 i was having problme when importing new movies into database. During a mass import program was crushing constantly. When trying to import movies one by one 2nd movie was reading codecs so i had to restart program every time. Also when clicking on save/exit program was crushing. I decided to reinstall program completely and now it takes ages to load and its hanging my system and on the end i get mnessage "The operation has timed out5". Also after a minute or so when program is up and trying to import information from the net program is completely freezing all my other applications and on the end i get the same message.
Please advise.

Just to verify what version you're running, could you please right click the XMM shortcut on your desktop (or right click the quick launch icon instead) and go to Properties and then click the "Find Target" button. This will take you directly the XMM executable. Above the address field which reads: C:\Program Files\eXtreme Movie Manager, you'll see an icon on the right which if you hover you're mouse over it, will say "Views". Click the arrow to the right of that icon and choose "Details" from the menu. This will order the data in columns. The extreme movie manager.exe should be 6,940KB and the date should read 15/09/2006 11:39. Is that what yours reads as?

I have latest version 5.3.9.0. for some reason now seams to be back to normal when starting up but still problem when importing new movies is still there.
When using option add movies/lookup cd/dvd for movies almost every time its crashing when it comes to read 2nd movie and from what I've seen it's when it starts to read codec information.
When using option add movies(single file import) when it reads first movie everything is fine. i click on save and then add new for second movie and again when it comes to reead codec information program is crushing. Also program is crushing when i click on save/exit option.
I completely reinstaled the program since I was thinking it has something to do maybe with upgaded versions but problem is still here.

Here is the error message I get when pressing on save/exit "The instruction at"0x77f58d2c" referenced memory at "0x00000000". The memory could not be "written" Click on Ok to terminate the program. |

OK, could you go to Start --> Run, type: eventvwr.msc and click OK. This will take you to Event Viewer which is a standard Windows tool. The system logs an event every time a error occurs. Open both the Application and System submenus. You're looking for events which are prefixed with either a yellow exclamation mark or a red X. If you see any, please make a note of the Source and the Event ID. These two are located in the 4th and 6th columns respectively. Please post the info in your next post.
If you see any events numbered 1517 or 1513 or any other event with Userenv as the "Source" in the Event ID column in the Application submenu, download a Microsoft utility called UPHClean from here: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=1B286E6D-8912-4E18-B570-42470E2F3582&displaylang=en
Which version of the Windows Installer are you running? You can check by looking in Add/Remove Programs in Control Panel. It's advisable to install the latest version (v3.1): http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=889482fc-5f56-4a38-b838-de776fd4138c&DisplayLang=en Make sure that you disable your anti-virus application before installing either utility.

Hi,
here is the event 1517 with error. I did not instal UPHClean yet will wait for your response.
thx
Windows saved user Y\Administrator registry while an application or service was still using the registry during log off. The memory used by the user's registry has not been freed. The registry will be unloaded when it is no longer in use.
This is often caused by services running as a user account, try configuring the services to run in either the LocalService or NetworkService account. |

Yes, this is the reason you should install UPHClean. You can read about the problem here first if you have any doubts: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;837115
