Dear Alessio,
the function "Frame Import" is a really great idea. But unfortunately, the realisation of the function is buggy:
1.) Importing a frame by "lookup CD/DVD for movies" and checking "Extract frames from movie file" with option "one frame (center) is really slow. It needs about 45 seconds per movie. Furthermore the cpu usage is really high! A P4 3GHz with Hyper Threading with 2 logic cores has a 100% cpu usage on both logical cores. This usage even doesn't stop, if the import is finished. It stops only if I end XMM by closing the program.
2.) The captured frame shouldn't be treated as a cover. Covers are always vertical pictures, so they are tall and thin. But frames from movies give horizontal pictures, they are not tall, but wide. Furthermore a user want's to see a cover and a frame from the movie, so both pictures should be present on the GUI. A possibility would be to add an additional rectangle in the "Quick edit view" between "Pictures" and "Main Infos" (pictures should be renamed to covers).
3.) Deleting a captured frame by "Open cover manager" -> select the frame -> "Delete Selected Cover" deletes the picture, but the field "Cover" in the "Quick Edit view" -> "Files" still contains the name of the file. So I have to manually clear the field to use the function "Internet" -> "Show Movies without covers".
With kind regards,

First of all, our CPUs differ. I have the one you see in my sig and my PC is a custom built job (I built it myself in that respect).
However, following the steps you described in #1, importing a frame took 7 seconds on my machine, so I find it a little odd that it should take so long on yours. Having said that, you're using a dual core CPU which is designed to run multi-threaded applications whereas XMM is a single threaded program (as far as I know). Your problem may possibly be due to a timing problem as described @ http://support.microsoft.com/kb/909944/en-us?spid=8599 although the application in that article is game related.
As regards #3, I think you'll find that if you click the "Refresh" button, it should clear the deleted cover you're viewing. When I tried it myself, it deleted the cover correctly without having to refresh, but perhaps AMD systems perform differently to the Intel flavour. AMD also released an optimized driver to address an issue with dual core CPUs mentioned here: http://www.pureoverclock.com/story.php?id=861 and Intel may have done the same, so have a look at your PC support site (if it's an OEM machine), or Intel's site if you built the system yourself.

Hi Blpp,
As Ditto wrote, your PC takes too much time to take the frame, it's not "normal".
I will take a look again to the procedure, but in my PC all is really more fast (one second per frame, I have an AMD cpu, single core, 3400+)
Thank you very much Ditto, you have made a really great job these days on forum!
