Running 5.4.2.0 of XMM. Just added two movies in the text field of the Add Movie Titles From TXT. XMM generates two new movie entries for the first title and ignores the second second title that I typed in the text field. Any clues? |

Did another test. It would seem that the problem occurs when adding a movie title that already exists in the database.
Example, adding:
Test1 Test2
Test1 is created twice and Test2 is ignored if Test2 is already in the database. In 4.8 I had a similar problem. So how does the problem follow me into v5 of XMM? Sorry but this just suck!

Hi TimC,
This is not a bug, if a movie already exist in the database will be added.
Do you need to add movies with the same same?
Please let me know,

Hi Alessio,
I just want to make sure that my example above is by design. It would seem strange that if I added Test1 and Test2 that Test1 would be added twice and Test2 ignored if Test2 is already in the database. So could you please confirm that this situation is by design. Just want to make sure that I am clear in my description of the problem. I hope that the problem is by design because it would not be something unique to me and could get fixed or added!
If it is by design, again strange behavior, what does someone do if they want to add the same movie twice? An example of this would be a retail entry then later adding in an XVID or DVDR backup of the same movie.
Thanks |

There's nothing to prevent you from adding the same title twice, or multiple times even. To differentiate between the different formats, just make sure you choose the correct media i.e. "DVD", "DviX" etc. The icon in the "Media" column should change accordingly.

Thanks ditto but that does not answer my question. Can a duplicate title that is already in the database be added when using "Add Movie Titles From TXT"? Bottom line, is XMM setup to ignore titles already in the database when using the "Add Movie Titles From TXT" function?

Hi TimC,
You are right, the import from TXT doesn't work correctly, I will try to fix for next release.
Thank you!
