this is my ideas to reduce unnecesary clicking, make the GUI feel more streamlined:
today: (adding movie) 1.- click "add movies" 2.- click "read files" 3.- click "select files to read" 4.- (file selection window opens) 5.- user is sent back to "select the files to read codec info-screen 6.- user clicks "read codecs of selected files"
my suggestion: 1.- click "add movies" 2.- click "read files" 3.- (file selection window opens) 4.- user is sent back to "select the files to read codec info-screen 5.- user clicks "read codecs of selected files"
gain: less windows that pop up, you can remove the "select files to read" button.
Another hint: Whenever user choses "help/check for updates" - or get the "new updates found" when starting XMM:
a window pops up, and user have to manually click "check for updates" - thi button in not necessary, when I click "check for updates" under "help" - I alredy want to check for update, so the program should "just do it"
