When I install a new build, the XMM settings I had are gone and replace by the standard settings.

Is it possible to have these settings saved in an external file?

Regards,
Ruben

...YES!

This would be really a nice feature...
Having "filters" for mass-add the user can define by himself.

But please consider NOT only you using this programm.
Others are using names like "TripleX-[704x384_120Min]_CD1.avi"
Others then "Triple_X_[704x384-120Min]-CD1.avi"
So it MUST be able to define more than just one "filter"
to get a "clean" name out of this!!!
1 filter that gets replaced by a SPC
2 filter that works as CUT-POINT
3 ...and so on...

And please believe me = there are MORE different naming conventions USED OUT THERE!

So the final point IS = Alessio (who is out until wednesday)
Just wanted YOU to HAVE something to USE!!!
...and WHAT you think about that feature in general.

Alessio is working hard to IMPROVE this and A LOT of other features
as well.

...but from a programmers point of view = THIS is really not that easy
to implement as it might look to the user!
(you CAN'T just add a 1 to a character!!!
..and think of russians using a totally DIFFERENT ALPHABET!)

So the future will tell = when and how this feature will be improved
because there are other users with other requests too.

BUT WE TAKE CARE ABOUT THAT!

so long...

Hi newbei,

As MemTronic wrote, this feature is really not easy to implement. I will try to do my best in future for adding it, but I cannot write exactly when will be ready.

Thank you!!

Hi,

If you install the "update" all setting should be not replaced.

Bye!

OK, I always download the full version, but still, it would be very usefull if these settings wheren't changed, no matter what version is installed.

I think that a many users will have this "problem".

I download the full version, so I can replace it with the obsoleted version I currently have.

Maybe it's possible to store usersettings in an INI file and when the installer detects that an INI file is already present, it won't replace it (that's what I do, when I build installers).

If you'd like, I can try to make an installed for you.
All I need are the files you use to compile your installer.

Regards,
Ruben

Hi Ruben,

The install procedure should already do that (not replace existing file of configuration). I will take a look, maybe I have put incorrect parameters.

Thank you!

I never use Update. I always use Full installation and found it very annoying that I lost all my preference. There should be .ini for the settings.
