Hi Guys,

I have in mind to start to work on next interface of XMM. The basic idea is to add features like Skins, Dockable panels, Ribbon toolbars (like office 2007) and so on.

I ask you to help me on building such interface, with ideas (and if you can example made with aint show for example) on how it should appear (of course there will be the opportunity to save/load different layouts).

Thank you!

Alessio

Hi Guys,

Is there someone that has graphics experience? I want make a new icon for XMM (the current one is 32x32, and "outdated"). Since I am working on the completely new XMM interface (ribbons menu, skins etc...) will be really nice have a new XMM Icon.

Any help will be appreciated

Thank you,

Alessio

You can take a look on controls from http://www.devexpress.com/. I use it already for few years. XPO - for database communication - and then just bind XtraGrid and other controls to it.

I will exactly use it, a bit expensive but really powerful.

Thank you!

If you need help just ask. I already have idea to use db from XMM and write small GUI for my needs with DevExpress... even have write XPO classes for few tables, but unfortunately there was a problem with free time to finish it.

Hi,

Yes, the main problem is the time

For now everything seem to be OK. I will create the interface with docking panels, so everyone will be able to set the view that like much.

I will also use the ribbon interface for the menu, I think the main work will be find a good "position" in the ribbon for everything. This new version MUST be really easy to use for beginner, but with all features for advanced users.

The main critics I have read in forums around the world is that XMM has a really bad GUI, hard to understand.

Any suggestion on how the icons, the menu and everything should be arranged will be appreciated

Thank you!

I hope the ribbon will be optional....? Let's just say that I'm not too impressed with that invention ;)

Otherwise keep up the good work. I think this is an excellent movie manager, and certainly well worth the £10 (or was it $10) I spent!

Indeed the Ribbon in the Office 2007 is not so good, too much confusing... but I think that with some work can be a really good interface. I hope that users will help me suggesting the best way to arrange options and icons.
