I'm not sure if this is coming, but I am in the process of switching to XBMC from meedio, and it would be awesome, if I could generate nfo files for my dvd library.
something that has say the same folder structure as the *_Mediacenter folder, but saves the appropriate nfo file in that folder, so I can import the info into XBMC (mostly for my location field)!
if there is some way to do this now, I am just missing it, as when I try to export nfo's without actual media files, nothing happens.
Thanks in advance! and I love the new version! |

Hi!
The NFO export work if you have your movie files in your HD. In that case the NFO export create the NFO files in the same folder where the movies are stored.
Another guy has made a little software to create a structure for XBMC, I will try to put it online soon.
I will also try to modify the NFO procedure, to create NFO file also if you haven't your movies in HD

The problem is I have two librarys one of online movies, that one is working great! The other is of my 1000+ dvd library, which is all stored in binders, and I really need the location field!
since xbmc doesn't look like it supports additional fields, it would be nice if there was some location mapping, so that say I could repace tagline with the location field.
so a dummy structure would have to be created. basically exactly like the _mediacenterdir structure that is created for windows media center, with a .nfo file instead of the two .xml files (and hopefully the ability to remap fields, so location can be used)
I suspect that most other people using EMM for tracking a physical library would be using the location field as well, and this would be a nice way of doing it.
then if the folders were generateted on created like the mediacenterdir folders are, xbmc could just scan in realtime so it would always be up to date.
now of course while this sounds fairly simple, i'm sure it's probably a whole lot more work for you, but it would make me really happy :)
again, thanks for the awesome program and the constant stream of updates to make it better!

yep, and i'm using the location field, however XBMC doesn't have a location field, so we would have to map location to something it does have, (for me top250 would make sense, but maybe not for others). |
