Hello, I lost the *.mdb file, all the other stuff is there, like all the mymovies.xml files and covers etc. on my harddrive, is there anyway for me to recreate the database from those files? But there is one thing, i named each cover by myself, say if the movie is named "Meet Joe Black" name o0f the cover file is "meet_joe_black". Do i have to reenter each cover name, or is tehre also a way around that? |

Hi,
I think it will be really not easy, there isn't a function for that situation.
You can try to do this:
1) open the configuration window, go in file reading section. In the file extension add the XML
2) Use the function to scan your hard disk in search for movies, select the folder where all subfolders with xml file are. Check also the option to import Artwork.
3) Now start the scan and cross fingers, maybe XMM will correctly add movies and pictures.

Hello again, I did what you advised but all in vain, since each folder named after each movie in the collection had a folder called mymovies.xml, and xmm I think treated xml files as it would treat avi files, only looking for namesor codec information. Anyway I might have my collection backed up in my old computer back in my home town, if I visit there soon I'll copy the files from there. Thanx anyway |
