Hello,
I updated my Movie Manager today and can't add movies anymore.
I did the following: - click "Add movies" - entered the movie name - pressed F6 for internet update with the script ofdb.de or just pressed "save & exit"
After the last step, the xmm goes to a load of 50% cpu and around 250mb RAM and will not work any further.
I killed the prozess and after that I was able to import the information. Then tried again, same problems.
For me it seems that xmm doesn't safe the movies properly in the database.
My OS is XP with SP3.
Is there any debugging funtionality or log I can provide?

Yes. On the third try I just tested if only save & exit would work.
First try was F6. Then I killed the process. Reopening xmm. Importing the information. Then again, add movie, try to start the script over the menue. Killing process restarting and importing. Third movie, add movie save & exit. Killing process and reopening again.
A workaround would be enough.... It's not nice to restart after adding every movie.... |

Sorry, but I don't know if my previous version was the 7.0.9.3, I haven't updated for a while. So I think my previous version was some of the 7.0.8.x

I'm experiencing the same with 7.0.9.4. In the main window on the status bar it says "Temp file for downloading locked". I killed XMM, deleted all files in the \tempdir, tried again, and it does the same thing. |

Hello Tomfisk,
XMM freeze completely? Have you try to wait some minutes to see if come back? Because Seem that XMM have problems with download the webpage.
Please make this test for me: add a new movie, save and exit, and now from the MAIN window select it and press Quick Update button to update the file.
Let me know if XMM freese also in that situation.
Thank you,
Ale |

Turns out it is an issue with Kaspersky Internet Security. I was trying to add the movie "Sex and Lucia" and KIS must have thought "Sex" is a bad word (naughty, naughty!). Anyway, I added a different movie without any problem. For this movie I just put in "and Lucia" in the title of the add movie dialog and XMM it came back with the list of movies from IMDB.
Sorry for the confusion!

But tomfisk described a different problem. I'm not using KIS and the movie I wanted to import was "Gremlins" and I don't think this is a naughty word.
I'll try some ways by shutting down other programms in the next few days. Maybe I can find out what is the origin of my problem.
You'll hear from me! |

Today I was able to test if other programms infect xmm. I shut down my Avira Antivir and my Outpost firewall. Both didn't make any changes. But I experienced that the import works. It's really slow. It last around 1 minute until the MagicScript Import Engine starts.
Could my Problem be some queue problems to the database?
I now got 673 entries and the mdb file itself is around 50mb.
Even the update to the 7.0.9.5 didn't make any changes.... |
