Although I'm glad that the error is reproducible and not related to me only...
Maybe those actors have a special copyright protection

Guys... finally I think I have found the bug...

For some reason when the OPENNEWWEB cannot download the webpage it "block" the temp file "temphtmlwebslot1.txt"

XMM cannot open it anymore and stop importing actors (you can also check by yourself, if you try to edit this file in the tempdir folder you cannot.

OK, I will now search a solution...

Thank you guys!

PS:Congratulation Prinz, you have correctly found the problem!!!

Yes, I also have already thought about a thread for adding bugs to your to-do-list with a marker if resolved or not.
Is is possible to mark a thread as resolved? Or if everyone posts a short list of bugs we/I could add them to a full list similar to Mawu's feature request list...

Yes JDommi... We can create a topic for that...

Are you available for do that?

XMusicM seem to be really promising! Its indedd more fast than XMM in loading data etc... I have start it from scratch, based on the Books manager, and the difference between XMM is noticeable.

When will be ready I will probably use it for base of the completely-new XMM

Of course I would do that 'cause the prog is worth it!
It would be a good start if you could post your list(s), too.

And XMuM - I'm really anxious to!

Doing stress test. 18,912 actors downloaded no problems as yet. Site a little slow. Spot checking data imported nothing is jumping out.

I am really happy that finally this bug has been solved... 18.000 is a really good test, this means that the engine is not so bad

Thank you!

I'm not having a bit of problem with the engine. It's smoking fast once it gets the data. I get dizzy watching the pictures flash by. LOL

Engine isn't bad. Bugs and tweaks take time to work through and document. It's like a work of art. Growing and changing. It's all part of the game when you develop software.

Only had two oops not related to this, IMDB had a bad actors page and one bad movie page which they are fixing. Got an actor with like 20 '@' then some what I call stray charcters like !(fjghfjslt then a bunch of blank lines which is sort of like what I was seeing on the Paul McCarty download. Strange cause it didn't appear in my browser when I went to the site.

Even got a response that if I find typos they fix those too. Nice people.

Well, what kind of connection do you have?
I need for 1000 actors with 4 additional pics about 6 hours!!! Are you plugged to an IMDB server? *lol*

I do have a fast internet. 32m download. 1g network card.

That leads me to a question to ask the pros. Why akas.imdb.com instead of www.imdb.com in scripts?

Not the reason. Here I only get a small part of my bandwidth from imdb.com. Probable the bandwidth for transatlantic IP's is restricted.

Because on www.imdb.com you get localized info depending on your IP-Location, only with the akas.imdb.com it's not localized.
