Would it be possible to create a function to remove the actors who do not have a movie in the database? I have over 31000 actors in my database & many do not appear to be connected to any movies in my database. I would like an easy way to delete the "orphans".
Thanks! |

There is an option to do that with MyLittleNMT Plugin at the bottom (clean actors button). Backup you database first so you can restore it if you don't like the changes.
Used it on mine last week and it found over 5000 actors to get rid of. I think there is a similar option already in EMM but can't remember where it was.

This is only for deleting all Actors or use plugin ActorCleaning.

On the main screen (in the top left corner), press the big arrow pointing down. A drop down menu will show up. Go to Plugins/Third Party Applications, there is an arrow on the bottom for this option to show more choices. Hover over the it and Actors Clean will be the last choice. |

This is great info (of which I was not aware), but the Clean Actors function does not give me the ability to delete actors not linked to a movie. The screen shot in maxn1's post shows "Delete all pictures not linked to an actor". I want a similar function, "Delete all actors not linked to a movie". I saw 4 functions of the Clean Actors screen, Add missing Actors, Delete actors listed more than once, Find Misspelled actors & find duplicate webID's. |

Maybe I can add that function to the Clean Actors plugin. But it will last a while as I have less time at the moment. I didn't have added that function because many users have added other persons (directors, photographer, etc.) also to the actors database. So these entries would be marked, too. |

Some directors have acting credit, so when you find a director in the Actors Database it show in the html card also all the movies this director directed and not even acted in. this is wrong. Xmm should only show movies this director acted in. |

Please have a look: http://www.mediafire.com/?9b79388of1f0vfn
Please keep sure to keep always a backup of your original database! Attention: As I have lost some actual sources (total hd crash) a while ago I'm not really sure if I have added the "unused actors" function to the "latest" source code. But I think that it's the correct one.
*EDIT* Well, nobody that have tried the new CleanActors plugin? |

JDommi, Thank you so much!!
Your new script removed unused 6500 actors from my database (of 31000). That would have taken me a VERY long time to do manually. Now I can concentrate on fine details.
Again, Thanks! |
