Issue - I find happening with my fathers installation (Notebook - touchpad) is that he often accidentally Double Clicks an entry (double tap), which then presents the edit window.

Suggestion - a switch in the settings could be provided, so that a double click can launch the movie, or activate edit mode ?

Well, if the double click happens accidently then it's the best to alter the double click speed.
I think it's not a good idea to put in an option of how to handle double clicks as it would be pain to select which action in which section of the prog should be done and which part is actually activated (Movie Grid, Actors Grid, HTML Card, etc.). I always would prefer to use shortcuts instead although too much of them are not practically, too.

In order to achieve what is possible, you have to try the impossible over and over again.

Keep in mind that not everyone has their files readily available. I, for one, only use XMM as a catalogue; I suppose many use a popcorn or WD to play their files...

The double click issue is caused by finger movement on the touchpad which can sometimes be detected as a double click, and not one of the buttons. Maybe just an option to disable the edit window when double clicked.

Allowing for disabling the double click to activate edit would at least improve accesability for those with motor control issues

I can add this possibility to the configuration, Its not hard to code of course.

Thank you!

Many thanks Alessio. My Father, who is in his 80's likies the program:) We have put all his DVD's onto NAS drives, so he can get to them when he wants.

Unfortuntely his limit is scolling up down selecting and playing. Even multiparts are entered as seperate entries to simplify matters. The only other issue he has is he keeps making the Cover Art pane dissapear.
We have tried him with a mouse, but he tends to move it diagonally, instead of up down :)

Many thanks for incorporating. My father has found it considerably easier to use with the double click option.

I don't know how many times I installed eXMM of late. First my fathers PC died so installed it on my laptop to get him up and running, when his laptop returned, re-installed, only to find they had reassembled it wrong, so it went back again. When it finally returned again, installed yet again.

I did notice one issue and this may be due to the first installation. I have installed now to the E: drive so if it has to go back again, I can just unplug and put in my identical machine, to get him up and running quickly. When running the database and program from the E: drive it says it can not find certain files in the USER directory which is the default install location. So I ended up installing it there too so the files would be available. Without having a known clean configuration I was unable to test further to see if it was what I had done or, due to the install directory.

I also ran the E:\\ drive eXMM and it presented the latest updates, but it wanted to install them in the USER directory. This may be something that needs looking at as it should be upgrading the installation that is running?

You can install freely on E: drive. If the update try to install under the user doesn't care of it, just select the drive E: also for the update.

Let me know if I haven't understand correctly your problem!

Hi Ale, you are correct in your understanding. What I am thinking is if the user is not fully paying attention, the update will be put in the incorrect location. Is it possible to add code to set the install path as the current running copy of eXMM. The scenario I have seen this in is when eXMM offers the update, shuts down and installs, rather than independantly downloading the update and installing.
