While trying to import data from the internet, I get the error message to check my internet connection. There is nothing wrong with my connection. This happens after 5 or 10 minutes during the process.

When you don't get any info then the script might be out of date or better the site has changed their layout.
Or is momentarily not available.

Or the connection is too fast and the server gets hammered with requests and blocks the "attack".

If I try to search for 100 movies, it works. I then have to shutdown the app and restart to do the next 100. I've tried different scripts with the same result.

This needs to be fixed.

Well, beside that I don't add such an amount of movies at a time I can't say anything to that. Maybe it's for the reason Prinz has mentioned.
But I hope one of the "power users" can help you more...
