| When you open the device scanner you could see a message that states you haven't selected a folder. If you click on it to add a folder it does not save it once you've selected it. I'm not sure if that's a oops or intended. |

some bugs i noticed:
when you first open device scanner it sais: "You Have not selected a folder, click here to add...". first of all a folder for a movies or for tv shows?
if i select a folder, scan it, but then press IGNORE. the results disappear. but the path at the bottom of the window show: Scanner Folder: path.... shouldn't it be cleared if there is no scan in progres?
if i clear he folder path in the settings and close the device scanner. and open it again it shows the "You Have not selected a folder, click here to add..." message, but at the bottom the path from the previous scan is still present. should be cleared. |

I have another probelm, since the beginning of XMM 8. Device scanner doesn't recognise any film at all... For instance, my folder tree: Y:\Movies\A-B\Avatar\Avatar.avi
If I add move manually then there is no problem, but Device Scanner itself doesn't dind anything. Just looking trough folders and came bac empty...
Any clue?

besides the problems i mentioned above, i have also the same problem Gargy mentioned, but i tried with and without recursice search (with TV-shows) and i got no response from the scanner.
another thing. the Device Scanner function (on the main tab and on the tray) is opening each time a different mode. sometimes for TV-SHOW and sometimes for Movies. if you last used add tv shows from files function and close it then the next time i press on the device scanner tool it opens up with the tv-show logo, and the same with movies, it deoends on the last function a user used. |

What about the other issues mentioned by me and Gargy?
"Engine Status" and "Scanning Folder" are not updated if there's no folder selected or the engine is not scanning anything.
there are some problems with importing tv-shows. when i want to import a tv show i choose import from web, choose the script, get results, choose one of them and then i wait for it to import the shows info, untill it lets me choose the ipisodes. this waiting time is useless. can i choose the show and immediatly after it the episodes, without waiting in between?
also i tried to add some shows and while the import of each episode was running i couldn't close the enginescript status, it was opening up again and again.
On two tv-shows (Wolf's Rain,The New Batman Adventures) a null episode was imported. an episode which i didn't choose and doesn't exist ,with an episode id and other fields in the episode list are empty.
can you explain why tv-shows and movies cannot be imported/selected together? |

another bug with the device scanner.
i got notification from the devise scanner, clicked on it and it showed me a list with files/films no longer on my hard drive. i checked some of them and click "remove". but it removed the hall list, not just those i selected. |

I had one certain and one possible problem too:
- first the certain problem: device scanner does not see the file; there is no sub-folders in the HDD, the movie is in the open; by device scanner only sees it, if I change a letter in the file name! I discovered it for one movie, but if tehere are more?
- when I downoladed 8.0 and installed; I "opened" my database of 7.0 (not imported); and then I connected my HDDs (there are four of them). First I saw that all directors, producers, actors and etc. were lost. MAybe I caused this, because in 7.0 latest days, as the database file was becaming too huge, I might have tried to erase the "people". But when i saw in 8.0 that they are gone, in order to have at least the directors I runned scripts, device scanner and etc. (for 3200 pieces approx., what a patience). Last night i figured out that hundreds of movies were erased from the HDD! but some of them are still listed in XMM! I am not sure that XMM caused that, but what can it be. If anybody lived the same, then I'll be sure. |

Have you activate the option to Scan Subfolder Recursively?
Its in the configuration window... Device Scanner option.
I have looked and looked can not find option to scan subfolders |
