Posted - 23 Feb 2014 : 23:02:58 Hi,
always when trying to add an actor or director that is not already in the database (while adding a new movie) I receive the following message: "Please insert a person that exists". I tried to manually add the person but the update from web doesnt't find anyone .. Tried with several names. Not even well known people will be found by updating from the web.
What to do? |

Posted - 19 Jul 2015 : 20:39:49 As far as I can see it doesn't make any difference what characters are used. It are standard chars - nothing special. Sometimes a restart helps - but not always. |

Posted - 19 Jul 2015 : 09:16:09 Does it depend on any name containing special chars or any strange phrases? Maybe one letter causes the problem. Does a restart of XMM corrects the problem? |

Posted - 19 Jul 2015 : 02:08:01 This is not a permanent problem, it happens from time to time - actually everything works fine. |

Posted - 18 Jul 2015 : 21:57:44 That problem still exists? I have added several actors/ directors, etc. in the last time but I never got such message. Do you already have checked the settings if an actor/... will only be added if not in database? Only a suggestion but maybe it helps. |

Posted - 17 Jul 2015 : 09:11:00 Same problem here. Can't add a new non-exisiting director. It is a bit nasty to add with via using MS-Access all the time...
Any ideas? |

Posted - 24 Feb 2014 : 07:27:19 That normally only occurs if you try to add a name with an id behind. As example you try to add "Test Name [xxx]". |
