It may have been discussed before and I'm not sure if it would create (even) more work but nevertheless:

I suggest to use a real bug tracking system for XMM.

Something with IDs and a bug status field with a corresponding fixed in version field (and everything else what might come in handy). It's kinda hard to keep track with all the open and closed items and the reference we get in the releasenotes.txt isn't always enough to determine if an update is in order.

Just saying...
