it seems the proxy settings work for http proxy, but don't work for the socks proxy. Firefox can use the same socks proxy without problem. XMM8 reports in 'Engine errors' tab: underlying connect close ..... or something.....yes, when I tried to catch the error message, it disappears for ever and the proxy settings don't work ether.
