They are grouping the sub-genres together rather than separately.

Example:
Say you have a movie that is an action / adventure movie.
It will show up as Action | Adventure rather than action AND adventure.

Or is that a feature somewhere that I can turn off?

Separating Genre and Subgenre is possible in the script options but multiple entries are always separated by |
You can exchange this sign on the card by javascript with AND, but keep in mind that sometimes there are more than 2 entries...

I was hoping to just have single subgenres.

So rather than the list looking like this:
Action | Adventure

It would look like this:
Action
Adventure

Separate rather than all on one line.

Is that possible?

Sure. You just have to write a js-function that replaces the | with a <br>.
