This is a general question about importing files. I have a movie files

Hope Springs.mkv
Hope Springs -trailer.mkv

When I scan my hard drive I come up with 2 entries which I have to join together or else I get separate database items. Next I have to go in each file and say this is the trailer.

Since I have a huge collection is there a simpler way to do this?

Hello Guys,

The option to exclude the movies that contains certains strings in the filename should work.

This option is in Configuration -> Device Scanner -> File Extensions -> Words to Exclude.

I will check if there is a bug.

Thank you!

Ale

Hi Alessio,
I tried that, and it did not work. tried trailer, -trailer, Trailer, -Trailer. in the field where it says sample. the only way to make it work was to exclude files <500 mb.

it would be cool though, if the scanner would automaticly identify trailer for the movie (e.g. through a term like -trailer

thanks for the still brilliant work :)

Hi Alessio. The question here isn't to exclude/ignore the files but to identify the as the trailer of the movie in same folder.

Green I like your idea better. I was just trying to exclude them and the duplicate entries from the database. Mine are setup with each movie in it's own folder with the movie, -cover,-fanart, nfo, -trailer. But I like your idea and wondered if they are identified why not just take that information and put it in the files record as a trailer. Maybe even establish a standard format. I found a wonderful free program called advanced renamer. I changed all my files from -poster to -cover in a matter of minutes. Great preview and oops undo feature.
