Let me take advantage of this post to remind that this same problem (1) makes XMM 8 totally unusable for me at this point. The IMDB and TheMovieDB scripts return serious errors in "Title", "Director" and other important fields (see pics below). JDommi has suggested that I edit the conversion table, but I do not consider this a reasonable solution. As it is now, I cannot update any films without having to manually correct them and so the whole procedure is unworkable.
Here's two examples for the film Cach`e

I have been reporting this problem for quite a long time, esp. re the Directors but also titles. For example here: http://www.binaryworks.it/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=12146
I log in from Greece, but the same thing happens if I run a US proxy. This seems to be related to the system Locale and the lack of Unicode in XMM.
Please remember that something similar happens in XMM7, but the mistakes are much more tolerable. In XMM8 the Dir's name truncates into the next field as I have mentioned. You can see the difference in these grabs:

I'm very sorry, but no. I just updated everything and it still happens exactly the same way with all 3 scripts.
Please bear in mind that if I have a correct version of a name in the DB, then the new entry sticks to that spelling; but in a new db, all names are imported as I described above.
Try a new db, add "Enter the Void" and update. The accented last letter of the Dir's name comes in scrambled. The only new thing is that if this letter is in the middle of a word (like "Fran_c,_ois"_ the Dir field is NOT truncated anymore to fill in the next field.
Or, in this new DB, add title "Cache" and allow "Overwriting the Default Title". >> Same thing. |
