I have collected some bugs too.
1. bug:
First I have created a new Database. Then I imported 2 movies over the imdb script.
Now If I click on "save current changes" the second movie title become invisible and neither the information of the first nor of the second movie will be displayed in the movie card.
After restarting the application my cpu usage goes up to 100%.[Fixed in the Alpha 3]
2. bug:
After importing a new movie into the example database it isn't selected in the grid.
3. bug:
I create a new database and close the application without adding a movie. After restarting the application my cpu usage goes up to 100% (I have to clear the registry value to use emm again)[Fixed in the Alpha 3]

In beta 1 I could see a little American flag on the movie card. In beta 2 it's gone (same American movie)
I miss the tv-script in beta 2.[Fixed in the Alpha 3]
In my opinion it would be better if then I set the left panel to invisible the size of the grid doesn't change. Only the size of the right panel (movie card) should get bigger.
At the moment I have to rearrange the size of the grid each time I set the left panel to invisible respectively visible.

By the way, here is a link to a useful documentation for using the datagrid element under vb.net (coloring individual cells an scrolling...). Maybe you need it.

Exactly, that's what I mean.
About toolbar icons: the icons from 4.8 are o.k. (I only critisized the size of them)
About Menue structure:
1. File menue is o.k., maybe "database functions" of "advanced functions" can switch to this menue.
2. Add movies/Add series/Add actor should switch to Edit Menue; the Edit menue should change when you select movies/series/actor tab (as the icons do)
3. Edit menue: see topic 2, expand/collapse should move to another menu
4. Tools menue: cover manager, script manager, statistics, loan manager, friends manager, magic script editor + reference guide, player manager
6. Views menue: media center mode, expand/collapse all, configuration stuff for all the panels and views
7. Utility/plugin: all the rest......
About data fields:
I think the placement of the data field in the different tabs are not so learly arranged. My proposal:
"Movie" and " Details" are o.k., "Media" should be renamed like "Audio&Video" with data fields "Codec, BitRate, Resolution, Dolby, Audio, A.bitrate, S.rate, Channels, FPS, Subtitle, Media Language, Screen Ratio, Audio Format", DVD/VHS should contain "Region, Edition, UPC code, media year, video standard, video mode, starting position, free time, packaging, VideoDVD, Features, Chapters, Dual Layer, Colour, Dual Side, No of media); Comment/Notes/review should have an own tab; Film/Video/Audio Rating, Ripper can switch to "Extra" tab
BTW: What the hell is VHSAdv?
in Add/Edit window I want to see more "dropdown menues" for selection (like for the "status" field) for "Country, Genre, Orig. Language, Media, Studio, MPAA Rating,Codec, Resolution, Audio, Region, Screen Ratio, Packaging, Video Standard, Video Mode, Location, Owner, Aquired From, Movie Type, Colour (!); for Subtitle, Media Language, Audio Format, Features it would be nice to have a button next to the data field where you can open a multiselection window (see therefore Wensoftware Movie Library)- everybody wo has DVD with dozens of subtitles and language versions knows why this is necessary.
So, I hope that I was able to specify my suggestions from yesterday. Stability of the programs seems very good for an alpha, although I have two freezings of the program when I tested the edit window(can't reproduce it exactly, program freezes and catches 400 MB memory).

hi all,
i found some things:
1. adding a new movie (army of darkness) and then changing something and pressing Save/Exit makes a copy of the movie in the grid ....
2. sometimes importing a movie from net doesn´t stop. now i´m importing STEALTH and i can read:"download complete, retrieving informations ... "but nothing happens anymore .... the download monitor shows: 28,34 kb di 97,66 ...
i am alone with this problem?

I think the labeling "Batch import" is too ambiguous. I had to read the help text to understand the function. As I have understood it correctly it's more an "update modus". Otherwize the import wizard is fine. But I hope the final will also have a pendant of the old import window (wizards are only for milksops  )
Will there be an additional script configuration menue or will there be only the script options table?
Does the ofdb script have any use at the moment because there are no script options available?

Hi Mawu,
I have call it "Batch Import" because it import movies informations from internet in "Batch", without the user. You are right, it's similar to the old "Update mode" in 4.8
In the new release you cannot import all informations of a movie without the Batch Import, because with the "import wizard" you can only import directlinks.
I know that Wizards are too "slow" for an expert user, but I think I will not change it. Anyway, if you use the "quick import", all process will be more quick.
About the Script options: There will be only the table, where users can change some settings for every script, but I think that only expert users will do this, all other will use the default one.
The OFDB script is OK, it has no options simply because it's creator has no add options on it (maybe because I must write the Help first, so peole can better know how options works).

I imported a list of movies from a txt file
So they all appear in the year 0
Then I filled in the year for each movie (quick edit)
Did some and clicked on group by year
Then I get an error
3705 Operation is not allowed when the object is open
XMM uses around 98% and the memory use keeps getting higher and higher
Only solution is to kill the app.[Found the Bug, I hope it was alone ] |

Here I can't reproduce this behavior.

When I import movies from text file, after import there is an unnecessary message that tv series and actors import is complete.[Fixed in Alpha 4]
webimport: I hope I become familar with the new webimport when all features are implemented (with xMM 4.8 I mostly use a chain of seven scripts). Will there be the possibility of a direct download of subtitles, media language and features by script or are the available variables limited to that what we can see with IMDB script?
[At this time not, but I can change the Engine. I don't know exactly how to implement this. I can download files without problems with Engine, but where store it? I can put files in a "Download Folder", what do you think?]
How can I prohibit that movie title is overwritten through webimport? I used OFDB script for "Spiel mir das Lied vom Tod" and it was overwritten with "C'era una volta il West".[In Alpha 4 there will be a flag in the Configuration, so you can decide if import title or not] |

hmmzz, that's weird, I tried it again and it gives the same result, gonna try again with an empty database and see how it works out.
@Alessio
Tried the webimport..
After selecting the correct movies in the script, the import stops after 4 movies and the processor goes to 98%
In this case it only uses 14 Mb
I'll let it run and see what is does
[Fixed in Alpha 4 (I hope), there was a problem in the Script, an infinite loop. I am building a check to find infinite loops and correct it automatically]

Sorry, i have to correct my last posting. When editing in quickedit tab (I've overseen that) I have the same behaviour as you have described it(98&CPU, 16 MB memory).

1-) shortcut key for buttons in MagicScript:
ALT+N = Execute next instruction (it was not functional, "ENTER" would be a better option).
2-) In EMM has only the tag #TITLE#, why don't you create a new tag as #ORIGINALTITLE#.[Done in the Alpha 4]
Example:
#ORIGINALTITLE# = English: The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King
#TITLE# = Portuguese: O Senhor dos Anéis - O Retorno do Rei
#TITLE# = German: Herr der Ringe: Die Rückkehr des Königs
#TITLE# = Italian: Il Signore Degli Anelli - Il Ritorno Del Re
#TITLE# = French: Le seigneur des anneaux : Le retour du roi
#ORIGINALTITLE# = Portuguese: Cidade de Deus
#TITLE# = English: City of God
#TITLE# = Italian: La cittŕ di Dio
#TITLE# = French: La cité de Dieu
For each country (script) we have a #TITLE#, but the #ORIGINALTITLE#it would always be the same.
3-) I noticed that it doesn't exist more the folder "Script Actors", then you could put the button to "OPEN" of Magic Script to open direct in this folder.

I have found another cool bug ;)
I have removed the MovieID field from my grid.
After that I wasn't able to edit or view any movie in my list.
[Fixed in Alpha 4]
Another suggestion:
After starting emm I have to click on refresh to display the movies.
It's a little bit annoying.[Fixed in Alpha 4] |

At the moment I try to repair some things in the ofdb script.
I noticed that for the directors name was a space. I checked the code but can't find the problem.
I have tried to import another movie with the imdb script and it has the same problem.
It seems to be a little bug.[Fixed in Alpha 4]
If I have the MagicScript editor open I can't import a movie within emm. It don't show the title of the movie in the "title found" list. |

some new questions/suggestion:
something came to my mind as mawu mentioned the title import/overwrite problem some posts ago: is it possible to flag the script itself whether it is allowed to import/overwrite the title? this would be a cool thing for chains so that maybe only the first script in the chain is allowed to change the title (maybe you have a typo in it..) and the other scripts in the chain can use the correct title.[I have add an option in the Configuration window, but I can also add it in the script]
as mawu also mentioned dvdprofiler, i had a short look at it. i think it has by far not the possibilities xmm offers but it has a nice little feature: movie import by upc/ean code. is this maybe possible with xmm? i mean, maybe someone could write a script for a public online upc datbase (though all i know are not very complete concerning dvds, maybe someone knows a good site..) and xmm could look up the title using this script and the upc..
in the select scripts window the options button and the filters for the scripts dont work (not implemented yet?)[Not Implemented Yet] and though the imdb script is automatically selected, the options dont show up on the side
[Fixed in alpha 4]
when i click on stop importing, could the window close automatically?
also the download monitor doesnt close automatically..
will there be again the possibilty to change the title/search term during web import like it is in 4.8?[I haven't do it yet, I must see how to make it]
could the edit window be made resizable? (or do we get the text editor back?) because its hard to edit the plot with just two lines visible or i have to use the quick edit mode..
well so much for now and dont worry about the "annoying bugs"! therefore its an alpha!  thank you for your good work!
