@Alessio
quote: At this time not, but I can change the Engine. I don't know exactly how to implement this. I can download files without problems with Engine, but where store it? I can put files in a "Download Folder", what do you think?
First comment: your suggestion goes far beyond my first intention. I only wanted to know, if it's possible to grab for example the subtitle info (=list of all subtitles) from a internet dvd-database or if only the listed tag fields during IMDB import are possible.
Second comment: I would like a download of additional stuff. I think the main problem is not an additional download folder but the "connection" to the movie in the database.
@Cybernoid
quote: as mawu also mentioned dvdprofiler, i had a short look at it. i think it has by far not the possibilities xmm offers
That's why I use xMM
quote: but it has a nice little feature: movie import by upc/ean code. is this maybe possible with xmm? i mean, maybe someone could write a script for a public online upc datbase (though all i know are not very complete concerning dvds, maybe someone knows a good site..) and xmm could look up the title using this script and the upc..
For german RC2 dvd-palace seems to be the most complete with integrated upc search. I think it's worth to update the palace script for the new release.
For RC1 there are several available. Since the amazing DVDLister.com switched to amazon, I use Michael's Movie Mayhem http://dvdlist.kazart.com/DVDList2.php. The whole database can also be downloaded as excel file: http://hometheaterinfo.com/dvdlist.htm BTW: Alessio, when excel import is integrated in the new xMM you can make a crash test with this file and try to import all the 80000 data sets.
Bye bye Mawu |

Wow, 80000 Movies are really much! Will be really a crash test!
I have add this new instructions to Engine, let me know if you need more:
->New Script Instruction: #ORIGINALTITLE# to download the Original Title
->New Script Instruction: #TAKESUBTITLE# to download the Subtitles (not files, only text)
->New Script Instruction: #GETMOVIEVAR# to put in a variable some Movie Informations, for example: #GETMOVIEVAR#=#46#=%TITLE% (Put the Movie's title in the Variable #46#, additional tags are: %MOVIEID% %DIRECTOR% %ORIGINALTITLE% %YEAR% %COUNTRY% |

Can you also add the possibility to take the weblink and ID, instead of the title, to select a movie ? That way I won't have to select them all by hand :) |

What do you mean exactly Henry? Make the WEBLINK with Movie ID?
Maybe an Idea can be this: If you manually put the "Script" and "directlinks" in the appropriate fields XMM can directly do the "Batch Import" withput use the first wizard.

like in the update mode I use now, use weblink or movie ID for updating, not the title.

Henry, use you the Update Mode also with NEW Movies (I mean with movies never imported before)? (Write You the MovieID or Weblink manually?)
Because if you use the Update mode only for "update" movies already imported, you can use the Batch Import.

Yes, I always use the update mode, also for NEW movies And I ALWAYS fill in the MovieID and Weblink myself AND I always use IMDB And I always take the Full Import, take everything.
So that's why I don't need any scripts or anything, it's real simple what I want/need :)

Hi Henry,
I will try to find a "trick" for you, but with the new Engine I think you must fill the DirectLink of the movie and Script. Maybe I can try to "Automate" the process

I have found some more bugs.
The rating is clipped. I imported the rating 6.54 but emm saves only 6 as rating. The length of a movie is clipped the same way.[Fixed Rating in Alpha 4, the Lenght should be in Minutes, so it's an integer value]
I open the MagicScript editor a choose a script and then closing it. After reopen the editor and press save the last script I have worked on is deleted.[Fixed in Alpha 4]

Hi Alessio,
1- When you search in the web and doesn't find anything for the title, doesn't have more as editing title and to order to search again as it was in the EMM 4.8.
2- When read files for a movie, it imports the total file size wrong: 7,372206E+08. Correct 737.220.608 or 703 MB [Fixed in Alpha 5]

Hi,
1 - No Internet is available and I try to import a movie over the Internet. A message pops up which shows a little error message. After that I can't close the import window. I have to close emm an restart it to continue work.[Fixed in Alpha 5]
2 - After pressing "save current changes" the first movie in the grid get deleted (there seems to be a cast exception -> String to int). (I have tried it with a fresh emm installation) [Fixed in Alpha 5]
3 - The current state seems to be saved without pressing "save current changes". Wouldn't it be faster if you load all the data after starting emm in a DataSet and just update it into the database if the user press save?[I save always when user change some data (so if you not change data, will be not saved anything. I do this because if XMM crash you do not lose all works.]
You have told me once that the movie card is responsible for the speed problem. Would it be possible if you save temp htm files for each movie the user click on and just update these files if something changes.[Yes, can be a solution, I will make some tests. Anyway, in the alpha4 the load of the moviecard should be a bit more quicker] |

Hi Alessio, concerning the speed problem with the moviecards, maybe you could also try to use the mozilla activex control instead of ie. according to a few vb sites i looked at there have to be very little changes to the program code, since mozilla activex control uses the same api calls. the control can be found here: http://www.iol.ie/~locka/mozilla/control.htm maybe you could have a look at it.
till later cybernoid
