I am trying XMM8 in freeware mode. I am happy to purchase a license if the software performs as I expect.
I have scanned a movie folder on my HD and imported the maximum allowed.
I did expect that the program would update the detailed information from some external database and although it reports that a script is working in the background nothing seems to happen.
I'm sure that I must be doing something wrong but it is unclear what. The movies are stored in the following format:
'movie name' (YYYY) which I would have thought is sufficient to accurately determine the correct data.

Please can someone advise me?

TIA Roger

At first welcome in the forum!

Please open the options in main menu. Then go to tab "MagicScript". There check "Update movies/people in the background". Should be checked as default.
At the top of that window you have to chose the default scripts for updating otherwise XMM does not know which source you wanna use. I think that's the setting you are still missing.

In order to achieve what is possible, you have to try the impossible over and over again.

Hi

Thank you for the advice. It seems that I was too impatient (common problem)! I left the scripts running when I went to bed and most film had populated this morning.
