All my movies etc are on an external drive, so I can use with desktop, laptop etc. It would be helpful if I could choose EMM file locations, they are all on my main pc in the C: drive (databases and related media). I`ve tried copying the databases to my laptop but the EMM program there will not recognise them. - Thanks

For me that works perfectly.
Do you have copied the database incl. all related subfolders to your laptop?
Then Main Menu -> Files -> Open Database. Just go to the correct folder and open the database...

*EDIT*
Sorry, you think of the movie files itself?
Then you have the option to automatically correct the file path. As example when there is changed the drive letter or the folder.

In order to achieve what is possible, you have to try the impossible over and over again.

You can do it manually if XMM doesn't recognize it.

Go in tools->File Manager

Here go in the tab "Fields functions"->Replace word on files.

Here you can for example replace "C:\" with "Z:\", so all movie files address will be the new one

Alessio,

Yep I did saw that option. The reason i was asking the question is that it didn't work. I entered replace "I:\" by "K:\" but none of the movie file locations are updated (I'm using Manager 9)

If I do a manual update (Movie --> Edit ...) then it works, but that isn't really an option for hundred of entries.
While, sure, I can edit directly the *.mdb, wondering if there is a troubleshooting log trace file to understand why teh replace isn't operational.

OK, got it to work now. Wasn't clearly specified in teh dialog that teh operation only applies to selected movie entries :-)
