Hi thanks for your prompt reply i am running win 10 pro 64 bit i installed full release and it is installed in c:\programfiles(x86) have tried other folders including program files and also on another drive thanks in advance
I would suggest to uninstall XMM to have a "clean" system and install it in the suggested folder ("documents"). [b]Keep in mind to not delete your databases![b] Best to copy them with the related subfolders into a fresh folder.
Beside that: Did you already have checked if the correct database driver (32-/64-bit) is installed as well as MS .NET framework 4.0? Can you load the example database?
For me I have Win 10 (64-bit) with old Office 2003 32-bit drivers and XMM 32-bit. There are no problems when I (always) run XMM with admin rights.

This version is installed to documents folder and was installed after a completely fresh and slimmed down clean install of windows 10 pro 64bit.net framework 4 is part of the current operating system in windows 10. How do i check whether or not xmm is running correct database drivers? thanks for your reply regards phil
Simply try opening the mdb with MS Access directly. Maybe you can try to Compact and Repair the database directly with MS Access .
Can you see at which point the error occurs? During initialisation XMM or on loading the database? Try to modify the config.ini manually to activate the DebugMode on line 152. At same time I would remove on the next line all recent databases (MostRecentDB=).

1. Open your database with Access. 2. Menu Extras -> Database Tools -> Compact and Repair
Alternatively you could try to create a new database with XMM and restart the program.
But what just came into my mind: When you have installed XMM 32-bit then you need the net framework for 32 bit, too! You can install them parallel without any problems.

By the way: For 32 bit XMM has the Compact & Repair function inbuilt. For 64 bit this function is no longer available as the 64-bit driver from MS does not allow it anymore.
