Hi,
I'm using genres to sort movies (Big Smile easier with checklist than keywords) but it seems that there is a limit on genre/subgenre a movie can have.
I cant save more than 12 genres/18 subgenres.
Can it be increased? Or is it a bug in my database? Dead
Thanks for any reply.

Well, that's no bug as both fields Genre and Subgenre are designed as TextField. For those the maximum amount of chars is limited to 250 chars.
If you wanna have more you have to use one of the CustomFields. But even not all of them are MemoFields, too.

In order to achieve what is possible, you have to try the impossible over and over again.

Ok, thanks.
Would it then be posible to change "keywords" to work like checklist (just like Genres ?)
Sorry for my questions,I'm not a programmer.
Simply put i would like to choose keywords from my own list by simply clicking on them.

That's difficult to answer as Alessio is the sole programmer of XMM.
Why do you need so much genres per movie? For me there would be an amount of 2 genres and 2 subgenres more than enough.
But if you really need more then use the keywords instead as you have suggested. Only the clicking will not be possible but you can set a filter to show only movies containing special phrases like Adventure and Fantasy.

Firstly: thank you for your answer, yes 255 chars is limit. ( was using English and my language= too long)
Secondly: I use keywords like: ( with lasers, dumb hero,Golems, with large battles, with a twist, good to watch with girl ...) to quickly find movie im in mood to watch (inserting them in "keywords" is a bit of a chore ( of course they're not genres) simply using "adventure" or "Drama" wouldn't do.( I use ~10-36 "genres for a movie/episode)

Good news for you:
There is the "Notes" field completely unused. It would be perfect for you as it can contain more than 255 chars and it it's easy to add to the movie card.
This way you still have the original fields without any changes and you can add your Mood criterias in an empty field. Only disadvantage is that you have to set the filter manually.

In order to achieve what is possible, you have to try the impossible over and over again.
