Impressive. very. I've been spending much time checking out category software. I like Catvids and moviecollector, but each have weaknesses. So does this one, BUT users ask in forums here and solutions appear! In the other forums users claim to have asked years ago and still no solution.
This software was hard to find. I searched through pages and pages of google links for possibilities when I found I wanted something better than the two above. I don't know how to improve that.
This software is IN MY PRICERANGE :) I like this alot!
Now for some questions: I did not see any custom fields that were of the lookup type. Say I want to track the location of each entry in a finite list of places. It would be best to have some custom fields with a drop-down box of user maintained lists, to minimize errors. Did I miss these? Done 5.5.1.0
EDIT: I'm looking more now and see many fields that would benefit from user-managed drop-down lists: location, owner, genre, sub-genre, codec, resolution, ripper, bitrate, people (like producer, writer, director) linked to a list, edition, screen-ration, audio-format, video standard, script-used. When these are filled in from script, great, no-change, but when they must be filled in by hand, a drop-down list would be very welcome!
How is it best to manage backup copies with this software? Say I have a Macgyver series in a box set I purchased that I keep on the shelf. From these I made playing disks (to avoid damaging the origionals) which are kept in a different place, and then I have an XVid version which are shrunk to fit on one or two disks/season for taking travelling. How is it best to see all three and where each is located if I look up say episode 14 of season 3? Or another way, how can I look up season 3 and see if I need to make a backup or if it's already done (and location). Or even look on an xvid disk (containing many episodes) and find where the origional of a particular episode is located?
Thank you. This is not an easy question - how to link items togather. Of the others, only catvids came close that I could find. |

Thanks ElTurko,
I went looking through the 'wishlist' topic here and found that both of mine are already listed... drop-down menus, and support for multiple media per title.
So now all we have to do is wait for Alessio to clone himself about 15 times. :) (and use something like your suggestion in the meantime)

Hi Caunt
I have start to work to your suggestions:

You can use the "Location" field (Extra tab) to store this information. AT this time there isn't the drop-down box, I have add it in next release 5.5.1.0 |

@Alessio
Ah, I see you'll work on the implementation of further dropdown-boxes. Very Good. Maybe it's possible to add also buttons like in xMM 4.8 to edit the data entries of the dropdown boxes ("datachange window" in 4.8)like it is realized in the lists management.
Thank you and bye bye Mawu |

Yes, thank you Alessio.
I was astounded you did those so quickly! Don't forget, the "quick edit" pages need to match.
Don't forget to sleep once in awhile too. |
