Bug 1: When data is imported using script "IMDB.COM (Complete).txt"; only a limited number of actors will be imported (Usually only one, the first)
This afternoon I updated to the current release version (7.0.9.8) (Due to another problem). I noticed that the import of data from IMDB seemed to be faster, and further investigation shows that limited data (First field only) is being imported to the "Starring" field.
Bug 2: The Script "IMDB.COM (Complete).txt" does not flag the "Script Used" field (Actor) or the "Web Imported" filed (Actor); further data in the "Filmography2" (actor) field is corrupt: Results (Sample lines): (1955)|http://akas.imdb.com/title/tt0048028/|IMDB.COM (Complete).txt#§The All American (1953)|http://akas.imdb.com/title/tt0045490/|IMDB.COM (Complete).txt#§The Fighting Seabees (1944)|http://akas.imdb.com/title/tt0036824/|IMDB.COM (Complete).txt#
.........................
Please advise on supplemental information needed. |

First the simple answers:
"Script Used" field (Actor) and the "Web Imported" field are only added via direct import of an actor with an actor script, not with indirect imports via a Movie/TV Show Script. At least for the "Script Used" field (Actor) the reason is properly that only Scripts that can be used for re-import of the Actor are added and that are only Actor Scripts.
Now to the difficult part:
There is something going wrong on your PC. Just tested all Information is imported to the Starring Field and to the Actors.
Could you give an Example Movie that isn't correctly imported? Just to verify if its only a problem on your PC or a script problem. |

Movies imported: Logans Run --> Only imported: Michael York --> Web Link: http://akas.imdb.com/title/tt0074812/
The Last Unicorn --> Only imported: Alan Arkin --> Web Link: http://akas.imdb.com/title/tt0084237/
Okay, I wanted to try and come up with a better repro. So I started adding... and adding, and adding. FINALLY, I was able to reproduce it again, with the "The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe". I entered a near match name "The Lion, The Witch an dthe Wardrobe"; and selected the item from the list. The only Star entered was "Georgie Henley Lucy Pevensie 1670137".
As for the "Script used"; the failure to complete this field results in many actors that are not flagged as 'complete'. The worst part of that is when any of the scripts are used, if there is not an exact match, XMM will asked about an actor who's name one may not recognize. Worse still: The window is modal, and one cannot determine what movie they are in to try and track them down. |

Imported all Actors without a problem here. Maybe your problem is related to not reset the Variable Bug mentioned here: http://www.binaryworks.it/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=7186

Even if the "Script used" Field was filled, that problem would still occur. Because that Problem has nothing to do with that Field. If you are asked to select one Actor when using the IMDB.COM(Actors) script the WebID is missing (or incorrect) for the Actor. But this WebID is imported via IMDB.COM(Complete) Script assuming the Actor didn't existed before the import in the Database.
All Movie/TV Show Scripts don't (and can't) re-import Actors that are already in the Database. That is a restriction from the magic script engine, it ignores all new Data if a Actor is already in the Database with any non-Actors Script. |

Based on the revised 'testing' and use of the XMM -- this appears to be the same problem. I didn't see a fix listed on that thread. Is there one?

I'm a little confused by what you are saying -- however: I'm looking for a reliable way to determine what actors I need to import (from IMDB). If IMDB.COM (Complete) has already done this, which ones to I need to import? Or the variant: How do I remove the ones that are already "complete" (via IMDB.COM (Complete))?
ALSO: Relating to the 1st item: As there is now a significant number of missing actors: What do I need to do get/import (all) the (missing) actors? |

No. Just like Ale today said: He is trying to find the bug.

Normally all Actors that have a WebID have been imported via IMDB.COM. So all that don't have a WebID need to be imported.

Re-Import the Movies that have missing Actors, after the bug is fixed by Ale. |
