Hello,

I am sorry but there isn't a function to do that quickly.

The thing you can do is to select all movies in the grid -> right click -> Multiple Changes at once -> Replace a word in titles.

With this function you can replace the year, for example replace (2010) with empty space, but you have to do it for all years.

Ale

Next week I can make a little tool to replace the year from title.
Should be easily done as it is nearly the same routine I already use in the MovieLength tool.

In order to achieve what is possible, you have to try the impossible over and over again.

Just a quickie... UNTESTED as I don't have any movie with "(YEAR)" at the end. So please process on a copy at first!

this tool work fine but some films has "(year)" at the end, and "(1-2)" or similar at the very end of title.. Would you modify this tool and add something to erase all at the right of "(year)" mark ? Something like switch to decide erase or not all at the right of "(year)"?

Thx :)

Hi - Just a tip

We have file names which have much misc info in them and we strip them using a Find & Replace tool. Not saying this one JMonni made is not good just an alternative is FileBoss.

rgds,
Mike

Good idea Mike, there are a lot of tools that can do renaming - but can FileBoss strip the year from title within the XMM database itself? I don't think so ;)

ah! my mistake - I presumed he was seeking a "File Level" fix and not a DB.
