Ah, I'm not having any problems with timeouts either. It just makes it faster when your updating a bunch a movies. A little tweak note if your starting out building a large collection. I've been telling some of my friends from the "other" software packages who are looking about trying this one and converting their collections over.
Yes, I did do that.
That's why I say huh? or did I do something wrong again. LOL

New Databases for each test.
I got 42 movies added out 60 and 3,172 actors before it started slipping the actor information. All the other information is fine. Using batch mode for updating using 999 for actors.
Second test - 51 out of 60 and 3,812 actors before skipping over actors. Again rest of movie information correct. Batch mode using 25 for actors.
Third test - 60 movies updating 5 at time is working so far.
Thanks for fixing the actors delete button works on first click now.
Download Monitor disappears but it's probably mad at me for moving it around the screen to access others things. |

I'm just downloading the 3rd pass of 100 movies (only 12 actors). Everything works fine without a restart or anything else
*Edit* While 3rd pass the first movies skipped to import the actors |

For me it's not consistant. I just started another new database and got 6 movies added then boom back to skipping actors. I've even tried adding old movies or new movies thinking the information might be setup differently.
I think Prinz had the right idea with something not being reset correctly with script engine. After doing a shut down and a restart which I'm thinking clears everything out, I can go another 10 before it happens again.
I'm just not sure why we have different results with the same program. Like Ale's tests seem to work better than mine.

Thank you guys for share these info!
So, the problem seem to appear after 3000 actors inported in one shot (I mean in a single pass, without restart XMM).
I haven't made a so deep test, I will try again this night.
Probably, after so many data downloaded, something goes wrong in the internal engine variable...

Now I got again the wrong import fields... Compress db and restart doesn't make it this time, too.
Unchecking the red option: works again okay |

No problem. If you want the best you have to put in the effort and help where you can.
Yes that would appear to be a fair statement. But I should also point out, it does happen on less than 3,000 like my last test.
Keeping in mind I don't know how that script engine works and I can only point out things that I hope help you pin point a possible place to look.
New database No other scripts used 100 movies imported 25 setup to update using IMDB script (which I feel is solid since it does what it's suppose to) First three movies update fine Movie - 1 had 17 actors (no problem) Movie - 2 had 39 actors (no problem) Movie - 3 had 9 actors (no problem) Movie - 4 had 62 actors per IMDB page (it skipped actors)
stopped and restarted EMM. Started with Movie 4 - downloaded all 62 actors (no problem) Movie - 5 had 27 actors (no problem) Movie - 6 had 41 actors (skipped actor import.
*Edit* I don't know if this is helpful or what it means but I've noticed when you are running the script you get constant error messages about Index almost on each line it's processing.
Message 5 Invalid arguement= value of 'line number' is not valid for 'Index'. Parameter name: Index.....

I can answer for him: it doesn't matter what movie it is. Because the next time the same movie will work without any problems... |

That's true Radioactive. What I was referring to was Ale's post about characters where he found "(". I was testing to see if that was a universal problem or was that formatting of the information like it was done this way now we are doing it another way. Just part of my test plan to ensure we catch everything.
Sometimes there are little odd things that pop up. Like Prinz said it's a bug but it hadn't happened to me before just with this new download. I went back and read his post in the forum about it.
Jdommi, I just had the oppsite happen. After it skipped a movie I went back and it wouldn't download the actors. I tried another one and it worked fine. Then I did the compact and exit like we've been doing, restarted and same thing. I don't see anything messed up in the tables. If I delete all the actors in this test database and redo that movie works. Please let me know if you have that happen. |

As I said in my last post. I only have to activate/deactivate any of the skip options and for me it worked again. I reselect the skipped movies and import them in a second pass - et voila - I got all actors. Without compacting or restarting XMM! |

I'm with you. I did try that and it didn't work. Walked away for awhile redid the same movie and it worked. Next time around didn't. I was thinking that when you did that it reset all the indicators in the script engine to like start fresh. Since I don't know how to check that or see that, can't explain why mine works and doesn't.
I do believe its those pesky indicators aren't getting cleared after each movie is completed or its getting confused over the number of actors to take like its losing an indicator and defaults to zero. When you restart the engine, everything resets the values from your selection and continues on until some event trips the problem again.
Here's a positive note. I found three actors with messed up information on IMDB. I don't see away those can be skipped or scripted for. I sent an email to IMDB and got a nice reply of Oops we'll fix those right away and a if you find anything else on any of the pages please email us asap.
Back to testing. |

Hello Guys,
I have run more tests this night and I have found a little bug, that appen when you stop the import by yourself (that is not this case BTW).
I think I have understand what appen: if the script take "bad" characters (like I wrote you yesterday "(" ) is possible that the query I made in the database give an error and from now on the part of XMM that saves actors stop to work.
I am trying a workaround for that... probably I will put online a new version in few hours or tomorrow...

Ale, it is possible the characters are some new additions to the pages like Cast (cast in alphabetical order) or Cast (in credit order). Some pages have these and some don't. I'm not comfortable setting breaks in the script engine yet to check that.
On this page http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0077399/ for example pretty easy cast listing. This page same movie gives the "(" http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0077399/fullcredits#cast Note about half way down it says rest of cast listed alphabetically with no "(" or ")" but on other pages it's there.
Doesn't explain why sometimes you get one or two actors names and numbers but figured it was something to show you that might help.

Not for me Chad. I still have had a few movies with only 1 or 2 actors. But Ale has found another bug on the skip option in combination with custom8 field. |

I took a break and caught a few hours sleep and went to the dentist. But I'm back. I'm going through my test database now cause I left it running while I went out. I noticed it started skipping while I was gone but it ran 5.5 hours without a problem.
I've having one of those blond moments so I have to ask a question. In a couple of the posts, it is noted if you use the skip button or stop button or like you mention above, I'm not and haven't done either. Not sure if my newest skip problem is related.

Can't say if the import now works correctly... I have switched killing IE8 to compatibility mode for ALL sites. The import now seems to be slower but for the last 200 movies I didn't have problems (missing actors) beside the automatic skips. Have to do further tests tomorrow... |
