That error always pops up when a import block takes a long times, because a big amount of Data is imported. That is definitely a Bug in the Script engine. |

I also noticed that IMDB seems to be having "mood" swings. I noticed this a few times yesterday and some today. When you update a movie again it skips over actors, a few minutes later it downloads them fine. That would tell me it's not a script error also it's too quick for page changes on the site. Also noticed this seems to happen at what I might consider busy times like it could be the script isn't get a response. Is there a message that would pop up for that? |

Just a thought:
I think i have that problem since Ale changed the Download process (abort button). Could it be possible that Ale changed the code or component in some way that the Download component tries to execute javascript that is embedded in the the downloaded html page?
That could result in a endless javascript loop because the page wont be rendered by XMM and explain the strange message... |

I'm still updating since 8 hours - and no single timeout ore error message although there were meanwhile downloads on 2 other pcs. For me I can say that I have much less problems than before.

Of course *lol* MY pc runs even without me
But therefore I have a really serious problem: For testing purposes I have deleted ALL actors in my database und wanted to import all by using reimporting the movies with imdb complete script. I have saved and compacted the db before. After a restart I have begun. I set the options to overwrite and to take only director, writer, etc and actors (25 per movie). Now I have the actors in my database PLUS one empty actor dataset with the same id after each actor.

Maybe some other config. It almost only happens with actors (take all) if there are many actors. Like i said: Long imports.
And the value at which point this message triggers can be configured (even deactivated) in the windows registry:

My PC runs without me in fact probably happier if I wasn't around.
Yes did the same thing. Also noticed that when you say delete all actors, it takes two times for them to actually delete.
I did 50 and 99 and selected about 20 movies, each time I get to about 10 updating okay then it skips.
Even tried a movie with 7 actors by itself and wouldn't download.
Edit: What confuses me is that it isn't consistant. Yesterday I did 213 adds update without a problem. Like I said somewhere it was fast. Then today when I go out to add one I missed it skips. Not sure what changed if anything.

Well, now I'm not special anymore 100 movies updated well (12 actors per movie). On processing the next 100 imdb switched to 1 actor without any pic... Nothing was changed between both passes!
*Edit* First pass after start of XMM works ok (tested with "Update Selected Movies") and the second pass causes the malfunction already with the first movie to import. I think that one or some variables are not resetted after using this function. |

yes, had that happen too. Sometimes I get two actors but nothing else. No pictures or bios.
I got 3 emails and facebook posts asking if it was fixed yet. You mentioned thankless in a post a while back. Okay, I got one of those. I'll say he (not sure if it is a he or she) said why don't you guys work on fixing the base program before worrying about new features. You tweak something and it breaks something else. Does anyone do quality control?
I wrote back that we were doing a lot of testing to ensure we only had one or two issues. With sites and possible changes or connection speeds, we had to figure out the cause.
I'm still working with Nick's tweaks especially for Windows. He suggested resetting the priorty for the program to high or real time so it doesn't cause delays when downloading and processing. That works really well. The downside is you have to reset each time you start EMM it doesn't store anywhere.

?????????????????????????? On updating movies I have set the options to import only director and actors. But suddenly original title, year and custom9 are imported... A new start and even deleting the options for the imdb script doesn't solve this problem. |

Thank you!!!! I noticed that too and thought it was me doing something wrong again.
I compacted the database. Closed EMM and restarted and selected another script then changed it back and it worked fine. A little confusing to me. It's like something gets stuck in memory or something. I don't know. Then after a couple of movies it flips back. It's like huh? |

I just have send Ale an email... He really should set priority to debug XMM before working on new features/progs.
*Edit* I have tried your solution, too. Without any success |

Thanks, Ale that would be great.
J, if your ???????? is about the windows tweaks you can give a programs priority level like normal, high or real time for examples. If you give EMM a high or real time priority over other programs running at that time when you downloading and saving information to a database it gets the higher faster priority since most programs are set to normal. It also makes the scripting process run faster. The indicator has to be reset each time you start the program and it doesn't keep it.
Using some of the other scripts like movie posters it runs like a champ. Same with DVDEmpire. I noticed an improvement when processing the awards information on IMDB scripts. When we can get actor information to download the download monitor barely goes off when I have it set to real time. |

Hello Guys,
This nighit I have run XMM with IMDB Complete importing everything. I have notice a bug that can occur during Actort ID: if contains character like "(" or ")" can give an error and pratically stop the actor import.
I have correct it and start to import again, now I have imported 40 movies and 300 actors and seem that everything works. I know that the number is low, I will continue all today to import and if nothing appens I will put online the new release.

The ??? should only express my confusion about To the tweaks: I didn't have tweaked anything as my system runs fine for me. I don't have any timeouts or so. I mentioned them only as some people have reported them as often.

On the changing-options-problem: Do you have selected the blue option to skip on more than one direct link? Deactivating this setting solved that problem for me! |
