As best I can tell this can not be done at present.

What I would like to be able to do is Create a database which is based on Actors only.

i.e I enter an actors name and the database is then populated by a list of their movies based on say the info available at imdb

What is then created is a sort of wish list.

In addition maybe a way of sorting the list by number of actors I like in each movie. The more actors I like the higher it goes on my acquire list.

If possible this could be integrated with the existing system, so what is already acquired is shown

To the first part: just switch your grid to Actors and have a look at the Filmography tab of this actor.
The second part would implement an actor's rating and an automatic addition/checking of all movies in filmography inclusive all actors. Then you have to combine the actors per each movie with their ratings. I think that function would be too extra-vagantly to implement.

In order to achieve what is possible, you have to try the impossible over and over again.
