Hi Folks!

I am playing around with XMM now some months and would die for a nice and simple howto. I am afraid the more I try, the more i mess up configurations :)
After reading through the forums I think several users would benefit...

Suggestion: Lets say we have some movies like:

m:\videos\Movie.title1\file1.avi
m:\videos\Movie.title1\file2.avi
m:\videos\bad.Movie.title.2012\anothermovie.avi
m:\videos\RamboCollecion\Rambo1\file1.avi
m:\videos\RamboCollecion\Rambo2\fileasdsd.avi
m:\videos\RamboCollecion\Rambo3\bla1.avi
m:\videos\RamboCollecion\Rambo3\bla2.avi

And the goal:
1) to import all movies
2) find correct (and overwrite if necessary!) Titles (assumption: Path is more or less correct while the name of the videofiles can be difficult).
3)When found the correct movies -> complete descriptions and covers using other scripts if necessary
4) Assume one movie has been recognized wrong - how to correct quickly including scriptlinks?
5) What are the stages of automatation?
6) Most happening mistakes

Anyone out there who masters all this and willingly to write a short howto based on his best practise?

Hello

1)Select for the path m:\videos\ and be sure that the "Recurse Subfolders" option is active! (DEVICE SCANNER Function)

2)Set to read the last folder for title

3)this can be accomplished with MagicScript

4)In the grid just click on Update Movie (or, if doesn't work, first remove directlinks

5)Everything is automated with Device Scanner and MagicScript.

Ale

Dear Alessio,

this is *definitively* NOT working like this... in fact, it doesnt matter if I set first or last folder, recurse, set filename as title -> in all cases i will get the filename as title an so a not-really-perfect-input for the scripts. ( I opened a topic like like half a year ago too).

Is it possible that this is a result of all those updates we made in the last year? Would it make a difference if I reinstall the whole programm?
