Hello Alessio,

While downloading information from the internet with the IMDB COMPLETE script, it happens that every 3 / 10 movie cards complete downloading info in SECOND PHASE of retrieval, I get a Microsoft error pop-up that says...

XMM HAS ENCOUNTERED AN ERROR AND NEEDS TO BE CLOSED...
...DO YOU WANT TO SEND A REPORT TO MICROSOFT
...and the choices SEND REPORT / DON'T SEND REPORT

I'm using WIN XP and V.6.6.8.1 Deluxe Pro of XMM.

ALSO, if I download each movie card from the internet INDIVIDUALLY from the EDIT window of the movie file, I do not get any error; everything is ok. Only when I try and queue a few of them the error pops up and I have to close and restart XMM.

The internet connection was up and running OK all the time.

Is there any information I can give you to help me understand and solve the problem ?

Thanks

...or not, just tried to go an hour without Firefox; XMM had all the space to operate, still, I got the error...

Man, I am running out of options...

=(

mmmh,

Now I am looking at CPU overload as the possible culprit...

Today I went out for several hours leaving XMM to work by itself downloading moviecards. I knew there would be an error after 3 or 4, but hey, better than nothing...

When I came back I could not find the error window, and it was still downloading !!!!=)

more than 40 moviecards and it was still going !

Then I started to use the computer to do other stuff at the same time and puff, the error popped up.

I've got CPU charge around 70 / 80 percent all the time; when I add XMM to the mix, it stays around 100% all the time.

Maybe that's the problem; could you please try and test your version under constant 100% CPU load ?

Thanks for your patience again...

Yes, you need the framewrok to get XMM to work. The framework you need is the 2.0, in my machine I have all frameworks, from 1.1, 2, 3 and 3.5

I will try to take a better look...

This error report in P9 of the screenshot I sent you is related to the .NET framewor specifically...

Do you think I should look into it ?

Do you have .NET framework installed on your test computer ?

Does it work OK ?

If YES, what version do you have installed ?

Thanks for your patience...

Yes, I can select Directlinks, and I can Import moviecards with any script I like; the crash is completely random as far as I can see, that's why I am looking at conflict with other programs...

Any idea if a debugging tool for XP exists to check what happens when a program crashes and creates a report ?

Thanks

Hi Kerikko,

I really don't know what to say...just to be clear:can you select directlynks right now? or XMM crash in this phase?

Ok, found some interesting results googling : 'windows errors report clr20r3'

Many of the guys talk about .NET frameworks; I'm not a programmer, soI don't get most of it, but I have .NET framework installed; do you think there could be an issue there ?

Cheers

trying to google for XP debugging tools to find out if there's a program out there that can tell me what happens when XMM shuts down. I need a conflict monitor for XP so that maybe I can fgure out if another app is giving me pain...

Any suggestions ?

Don't know if this helps, but the EXTREME MOVIE MANAGER RESIDENT FILE MONITOR icon in the tray tool area does not go away when the program has to shut down. It is still there when I restart it, so I end up with 2,3,4, or more of them according to how many times I have to restart XMM. A simple mouse over does make all of them disappear apart from the active one though...

...maybe a conflict with another program ?

Tried shutting down THUNDERBIRD and MEGAMANAGER ( these 2 have active monitors running in the background ), but no luck yet...

...then again, now it failed the very FIRST movie info download even under the FASTEST IMDB script...

=/

Back to square one...
Kerrikko Posted - 02 Jan 2009 : 21:36:30
...and it's and XPSP3 OS

Kerrikko Posted - 02 Jan 2009 : 21:31:50
Ok,

Could be a surcharge of the CPU; just updated ( first time download ) a block of 30 movies with the FASTEST IMDB script, and NO PROBLEM. Tried the same with the COMPLETE IMDB script, and the error popped up after the fourth movie...

=/

I don't know if this helps, but I'm using an IntelliMac core2duo 2.33 BOOTING under XP ( not DUAL OS ).

Cheers
