Hi:

Have you ever converted info from "Fox Movie Manager" format to Extreme MM format?

I appears the company has gone out of business. I bought your manager with hopes of being able to convert my "Fox" database to yours.

They Export their database in .txt / .htm / .xls file formats.

Any hints about how to proceed with this would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks

George

Hello,

I don't know this manager. If you can export only titles to txt then you can copy and paste it in the function "Add movies from a txt list", and then you can reimport everything from internet with scripts.

I think thats the best way because XMM will populate also Actors database.

Hi Ale:

Thanks for the quick reply!

I tried using just a list of titles, and it worked.

My problem is that I have a couple of dedicated fields to tell me where the physical DVDs are stored (Book # / Disk #), and I want to import them. Manually keying in
1000 entries doesn't appeal!

I have been trying to use a .CSV file I generated using the .xls file through Excel then edited it down to simply "Title,Location,Custom Tag" like below:

Title,Location,Custom Tag
11:14 (2003),#1,Book #1 / Disks #1-2
12 Monkeys: Special Edition,#1,Book #1 / Disks #4-5
"13th Warrior, The",#1,Book #1 / Disks #4-5

Association didn't work the first time I tried it, but as I was going through the steps again and documenting them as a bug fix request - it worked, and my .CSV file was read in correctly - Great!!!

Next issue: Is there any way to selectively remove "Sub-titles" (Custom 5, Custom 6, Genre, Sub -Genre, etc) from the main movie page? In my travels through the UI, I thought I saw something that indicated I could, but cannot find it again, was I dreaming?

Regards and Thanks for the great and under priced product - I will be an XMM evangelist.

George

Hello!

Do you mean you want remove the Custom5 etc.. from the Main Grid? If yes, just right-click on the column title and select, from the menu, remove column.
